Survey of Western Literature 1

Instructor: Robert W. Watson, B.A., M.Ed., J.D.


SURVEY OF WESTERN LITERATURE 1 covers the earliest literature in ancient times to the early Renaissance. The course will require attendance on campus once a week and successful completion of reading quizzes, vocabulary quizzes, weekly journal entries, and unit tests online at Watson Educational Services, Inc.

Both students and parents will be given access to the website. Parents will have the ability to view grades and completion of assignments for their students after logging on. Parents are expected to monitor the progress of their students' work. It is not the responsibility of the instructor to indicate deficiencies because parents can monitor their students' progress at any time. Currently, the course is under construction but will be ready for the first week of school. Access to the website will be granted after the receipt of appropriate fees as stated below.

PLEASE NOTE: Students will not be permitted to attend classes for literature until payment is received from Smarr Publishers for access to the online classroom.

The following conditions are required by all students:

1. Access the Survey of Western Literature 1 online study guide.

2. Possess the following required texts

Those texts indicated "online html edition" will be available for the student with the online study guide. The indicated edition of the text is the required text that will be used. All texts can be purchased via Smarr Publishers through the links provided, or you can purchase the entire set of works for $25 from Smarr Publishers. All texts will be sent to you directly via media mail.

Latin 1 and Latin 2

Instructor: Robert W. Watson, B.A., M.Ed., J.D.


LATIN classes will meet weekly on campus, primarily to introduce new concepts and reinforce others. All materials are online with study guide, practice exercises, and tests, and like the literature class above, parents will have access to the site to view their students' progress and grades. Students are expected to keep up with vocabulary studies and exercises. Any questions about Latin grammar can be addressed via email at any time; therefore, students do not need to wait until their class meets on campus.




The following conditions are required by all students:
