Writing Evaluation Service
While home educators can and do evaluate
satisfactorily the written assignments of their students, oftentimes it is advantageous to have
a third party to offer criticism and guidance to the students.
For those educators who desire a third party to evaluate their students' assignments, Dori Anne Abbott,

proficiency and confidence in their critical writing.
The procedure is quite simple.
1. The student completes a writing assignment and forwards the paper via email as an attachment
(Word document) to Mrs. Abbott.
2. Upon receiving the paper, Mrs. Abbott will notify the student of the
date and time of a conference call in order to discuss the paper and to be instructed in the fine
points of writing.
3. The student is called by Mrs. Abbott and joins the conference call at the time and date
previously specified. The conference call will be for thirty (30) minutes. Parents are welcome
and are encouraged to listen in on the conversation.
4. No "grade" is generally offered. However, students who are evaluated for the entire year can
receive a grade based on their entire portfolio for the year.
