Realism to Modern Period (1850-1955) is a 36-week program requiring the reading of the following texts (for a description of the work, click on the title): The Law, A Southside View of Slavery, The Red Badge of Courage, Selected Stories of Bierce, The Sack and Destruction of Columbia, SC, Up from Slavery, Selected Stories of Twain, Selected Stories of Tolstoy, Arms and the Man, The Autobiography of an Ex-Colored Man, The Importance of Being Earnest, World War I British Poets, This Side of Paradise, Selected Poems of Frost, I'll Take My Stand, The Pearl, Animal Farm, and The Mouse That Roared.
