Later Renaissance to Romanicism (1611-1850) is recommended for students who will be studying a history course from the early 17th century through the middle of the 19th century. Mourt's Relation, The Scarlet Letter, The Misanthrope, The Pilgrim's Progress, Narrative of the Captivity of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson, Selected Essays of Swift, Selected Poems of Pope, Robinson Crusoe, She Stoops to Conquer, The Vicar of Wakefield, Frankenstein, A Tale of Two Cities, Selected Poems of Wordsworth, Silas Marner, Billy Budd, Selected Works of Poe, and Selected Poems of Longfellow.
