Survey of World Literature is recommended for students who will be studying a one-year course in world history. This is a 36-week program, which requires the reading of the following texts (for a description of the work, click on the title): Studies in Poetry, The Epic of Gilgamesh, Book of Job, Greek and Roman Mythology, Odyssey, Oedipus Rex, Antigone, Aeneid, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, The Song of Roland, Ivanhoe, La Vita Nuova, The Misanthrope, and Kreutzer Sonata.
