Five (5) Lessons

This study has readings of a few selections from Ovid's Metamorphoses. The word "metamorphosis" originally comes from Greek which means "to transform." Written prior to Ovid’s exile from Rome, almost all of the stories in the Metamorphoses have a transformation of some sort. Not surprising, many of the stories also center on love with its pain. One can argue that Ovid wrote the Metamorphoses as a mock epic to be compared with Vergil’s Aeneid. Ovid’s gods and goddesses are hardly divine, but are quite human in the worst ways possible. No doubt this is what Ovid intended, since his worldview is earthy and materialistic.

Package includes study guide, answer keys, and vocabulary quizzes.
